COMMITMENT TO SCOTTISH MARKET SHOWN BY NEW UDDINGSTON OFFICES AND INCREASED FYVIE TEAM

Steadmans has reaffirmed its commitment to the Scottish market by moving staff in the Glasgow area to improved offices and strengthening its team in Fyvie, Aberdeenshire.

The employees previously at the company’s sales and product collection facilities in View Park, Uddingston, on the outskirts of Glasgow, are now operating from a new building at the same site. Recently fully refurbished, the premises offer three times the space of their predecessors.

Darren Hall, sales office manager for Scotland, said: “The new building includes a meeting room and facilities for customers and staff to discuss projects, if need be. They also encompass improved amenities for staff, such as a new kitchen and toilet. In addition the signage at the site has been upgraded and the new offices are much more visible from the road than their predecessors were.”

Steadmans’ Uddingston premises are ideally situated for ease of access, next to the motorway network, and the company’s team will continue to use the yard space they formerly utilised there.

Darren said: “Our already-excellent customer service will only be improved by the relocation. Our extensive product range, ability to manufacture to client specifications and short turnaround times are unaffected, and the team here remain more than happy to discuss these with customers.”

The new recruit at the Fyvie sales and distribution centre is Ian Taylor, an internal sales consultant. He brings significant merchant and logistics experience, plus expertise in delivering high-level customer service, to the role.

Darren said: “It’s a pleasure to welcome Ian to the team and we’re sure he’ll prove a considerable asset to our Fyvie customers. Increasing the team there indicates the already-strong popularity of the site and the potential we believe exists for this to increase in the future.”

Located at Mill of Crichie, the Fyvie site was opened in May 2012 to provide a dedicated resource for customers in the area between Aberdeen and Inverness, and has exceeded all targets in the first 18 months. Steadmans’ area manager for Scotland previously dealt with customers in the vicinity of the site and its opening provided them with even better service and delivery levels.

In addition to Steadmans’ output such as roofing sections, insulated roof and wall panels, profiled metal cladding and a wide portfolio of structural products, the Fyvie site sells market leading fibre cement sheeting and accessories.
