Grain Wallings

Typical panel arrangements
The panels are usually installed between the stanchions of steel framed buildings but can be fitted across the face of the stanchions if required. These details show starter, intermediate and make up panel arrangements for three common bay sizes. Alternative bay sizes can be accommodated by utilising custom designed make up panels.

Panel support
Responsibility for the design of the steelwork supporting Steadmans grain wall panels lies solely with the customer. A suitable section type and size should be selected and consideration should be given to the position and number of supports required and to the overall suitability of the building to withstand the induced loads.

Panel length and hole punching
The panels are delivered to site pre-punched ready for site assembly and to ease installation the hole punching is symmetrical. Set screws, nuts and washers can be supplied if required. The details below show panel hole punching for a range of storage heights. Panels are available in any length up to 4700mm.

All panels are punched with 12mm diameter holes for M10 screws. Rubber-backed washers should be used at the external face of the panel and plain washers should be used at the internal face of the panel. Panel joints should be sealed with 4mm diameter butyl sealant.
The details below show the base of the panels 124mm below finished floor level (FFL): the portion of panel below FFL should be protected to avoid corrosion.
