Meet the Team – David Lawton
For David Lawton, supporting customers is all about being proactive, attentive, and making things happen.
As Business Development Co-ordinator at Steadmans, David plays a key role in ensuring customers receive the support they need quickly and efficiently. From handling enquiries to helping move projects forward, his focus is on staying one step ahead and delivering a smooth, hassle-free experience.
“I always try to be proactive,” David explains.
“If there’s something that needs doing, it’s about getting on with it and making sure the customer doesn’t have to chase.”
Listening is a big part of David’s approach. By really paying attention to what customers are saying-and what they might not be saying – he’s able to understand their needs more clearly and provide the right solutions at the right time.
“Building relationships comes down to listening properly,” he says.
“If you understand what matters to the customer, you can support them much better.”
This mindset helps create strong, long-lasting relationships built on trust and reliability-key values that run through everything Steadmans does.
Outside of work, David enjoys spending time with his children and making the most of family adventures. Whether it’s days out or simply keeping busy together, family life plays a big part in how he spends his time.
He also enjoys the occasional game of golf-weather permitting-and likes to pack as much sport as possible into his weekends, alongside good food and a glass of wine.
When it comes to travel, Reykjavik stands out as a favourite destination, offering a unique and memorable experience.
And for a fun fact? David is the proud owner of a Fox Red Labrador named Albus Dumblepaw-who no doubt keeps him just as busy as work does.
