Meet the Team – Ian Taylor
At Steadmans, building long-term customer relationships starts with honesty, consistency, and making the process as straightforward as possible and that’s exactly the approach Ian Taylor brings to his role as Office Manager at Fyvie.
Ian plays an important role in supporting customers day-to-day, helping ensure enquiries, orders, and communication are handled smoothly and efficiently. His focus is always on making the experience easy for the customer while ensuring they feel valued throughout the process.
“We try and make the experience as straightforward as possible,” Ian explains.
“It’s important customers know we appreciate their business and that they’ve chosen to spend their money with us.”
For Ian, honesty is one of the most important parts of building strong relationships. Rather than overpromising, he believes in setting realistic expectations and delivering the best possible service customers can rely on.
“Honesty is always a priority – we never promise something we know we can’t deliver just to get an order.”
That approach has helped Fyvie build a loyal customer base over many years, with many customers continuing to work with the team time and time again because of the consistency and service they receive.
Outside of work, Ian enjoys spending time with family, hill walking, and watching football – although these days he admits it’s mostly from the sidelines rather than playing himself. Much of his spare time is also spent acting as a taxi service for his teenage son.
Weekends are ideally spent watching football on a Saturday, followed by a hill or beach walk with the dogs on Sunday morning and a traditional Sunday roast in the afternoon.
When it comes to holidays, Portugal is a firm favourite, with Albufeira becoming an annual tradition for Ian and his family.
And for a fun fact? In his younger days, Ian once scored from the halfway line against a Celtic and Scotland international player – a story that’s definitely still worth mentioning.
