Meet the Team – Niall Clifford
At Steadmans, delivering a smooth customer experience often starts behind the scenes – and that’s where Niall Clifford plays a crucial role.
As a Sales Order Processor, Niall is involved from the very beginning of the customer journey, ensuring every enquiry is handled with care, clarity, and attention to detail. Whether a customer needs a simple order or materials for a large-scale project, his focus is on providing the right information and support at every stage.
“From the initial enquiry, it’s about making sure the customer has everything they need,” Niall explains.
“Clear communication and product knowledge make a big difference.”
Niall brings a unique philosophy to his role, inspired by the Japanese concept of omotenashi – a form of hospitality centred around anticipating needs and delivering service without expectation of recognition. It’s an approach that shapes how he interacts with customers every day.
“I try to go beyond just meeting requirements,” he says.
“It’s about thinking ahead, spotting potential challenges, and helping customers avoid them before they happen.”
This proactive mindset helps build strong relationships based on trust, reliability, and consistency – ensuring customers feel confident working with Steadmans.
Outside of work, Niall leads a busy life. He has two energetic dogs – a Doberman and a Lab cross Collie – who keep him on his toes and often accompany him on walks that conveniently include a stop at the pub.
He also plays football for Calthwaite JFC Men’s and is part of a team currently pushing for a league and cup double.
When it comes to downtime, weekends usually involve a mix of football, socialising, and recovering the next day. And for holidays, Tunisia holds a special place, where Niall once enjoyed a solo trip filled with new experiences – from camel riding to quad biking in the desert.
One of his biggest hobbies? Football Manager – where he’s managed a virtual career spanning over 15 seasons across multiple continents (almost all of them), bringing success to clubs along the way.
