As Area Sales Manager for Scotland South, Paul plays a key role in supporting customers across the region, ensuring they receive not just the right products, but the right experience from start to finish. Whether working with contractors, installers, or buyers, Paul’s approach is rooted in responsiveness, clear communication, and a genuine commitment to helping customers succeed.
“Listening to customers is everything,” Paul explains.
“Once you understand their business, their pressures, and what they’re trying to achieve, you’re in a much better position to support them properly.”
Paul believes that great service goes beyond simply taking orders. It’s about being consistent, honest, and proactive looking for ways to solve problems before they become issues. By maintaining regular communication and taking the time to truly get to know his customers, he builds long-term relationships based on loyalty and trust.
This approach is especially important in today’s market, where reliability of supply and dependable lead times can make a real difference to a project. Paul works closely with customers to ensure expectations are clear, timelines are realistic, and solutions are always practical.
“We’re here to make things easier for the customer,” he says. “If there’s a challenge, we’ll find a way through it together.”
Outside of work, Paul enjoys making the most of his weekends with a mix of golf, football, and family time. A keen golfer, he’s proud to have scored a hole-in-one, and he regularly spends time on the course when he can. Football is another big part of his life, often attending matches with his two sons.
When it comes to holidays, Paul’s favourites are what he calls the “3 C’s”Cruising, Cornwall, and Centre Parcs offering a mix of relaxation and quality time with family”.
And for a fun fact? Before joining Steadmans, Paul once chauffeured a number of well-known celebrities, including Lisa Stansfield, Rick Astley, Gary Barlow and Barry White, something not many sales managers can say.
